DJ Bookings Geneva

Today, I speak with you a bit of stretch. Some people call dancing an art - others call it a sport. Whichever way you look, if you were playing music that you practice your instrument and melody or stretch your vocal cords before they act. It's the same with sports, too.

And, of course, the dance is different. Thus, at the end of this week, I want to share with you some ideas and techniques for stretching before dancing. Be sure to read and do it. Save injury!

Always stretch after classes and shows. It's also good to stretch during class between exercises. Here is an exercise in stretching the leg that I think it is good to do between routines:

Hamstring Stretch - The purpose of this is to stretch the hamstrings and the Old Testament upper attachment of the calf muscle.

1. Suppose the long sitting position (sitting with legs extended straight in front of you), leans forward from the waist and reach as far forward as possible with your hands.

2. First, stretch with toes pointed (plantar flexion), with emphasis on the hamstrings. Then with the back foot in dorsiflexion effort (), emphasize stretching the attatchment upper calf muscle. Remember that only extend to the point of mild discomfort. This should not hurt.

3. Hold for thirty seconds, then repeat two or three times.

Change: Stretching as above but gradually extend the distance between the legs.

Some things to remember:

* Never stretch a cold muscle, make sure you are properly warmed up before trying to stretch.

* Do not put weight on the leg you are stretching.

* Do not stretch the ligaments of the knee. Do not stretch the tendons of the knee. Stretch your thigh muscles only.
